things i find useful for making a website
- 32bit cafe resource list - master list for anything you could ever need for websites
- graphics 4 free - old site with cool 3d graphics i'm using for buttons and borders
- css 3d buttons - collection of really neat skeumorphic button designs using only css
- broider - make your own pixel border for your containers
- border-image-generator - or make one from an existing image (i used this for these borders, it's pretty sweet)
- html cheat sheet - i don't use this site too much as i should but it's really cool to use as a reference akin to w3schools or mdn
- claymorphism css generator - the basis i used to make the rounded containers on the site
- hover.css - very nice hover animations you can slap in to your code
- phoenix code - code editor i use for making this website. has some pretty good features imo
make your windows system suck less
i use linux now but these are what made windows survivable for me
- winutil - bulk installer, debloater, and generalize tweaks to fix a lot of major annoyances
- win11debloat - if winutil has too many options and you don't want to worry about the details, just paste this script into powershell and you're good to go. also works with windows 10 despite the name
- winaero tweaker - similar to the tweaks portion of winutil but with a nicer gui and better descriptions
- wiztree - really nice tool for cleaning up your hard drive, with a cool graph for analyzing where your storage is being taken up
- autoruns - official microsoft tool for more in-depth configuration of startup and scheduled processes that don't show up in task manager. great for killing anything edge related
music stuff
- ableton guide to making music - really nice guide that aims to provide solutions to problems you might run into when making music on your computer. aimed toward all levels of expertise
- reaper - my DAW of choice on windows. runs natively on linux too, but i could never get my VSTs to work quite right with it
- discover quickly - find new music through what i like to call "algorithmaxxing". i've found more songs than i'd like to admit through here. requires spotify premium
- rateyourmusic - or find new music through the recommendations of a bunch of music nerds with very specific opinions
- ishkur's guide to electronic music - i don't know if you can get more definitive than this
- nightwave plaza - just a nice vaporwave radio site, i listen to it to sleep sometimes
other cool neocities sites
misc
- tinytools - just a bunch of really cool tools for various creative purposes
- freemediaheckyeah - never pay for anything on the internet again
- shadertoy - i love going here and just looking at all the crazy visuals people make
